Formlabs’ web team designs and maintains our websites, which provide our customers with compelling learning and shopping experiences. We also empower internal users with the tools to manage website content and experiences. We are looking for an accomplished and mid-level web developer to help us create elegant, fast, scalable and user-friendly web applications.
If you’re passionate about building great web software, and want to work with a remarkable, interdisciplinary team building a 3D printing ecosystem, we want you on the Form Team as a Software Engineering Manager.
The Job:
- Lead a team of geographically distributed 5+ web developers
- Architect end to end experiences across web, and full marketing funnel through integration and partnership with other systems (e.g., Magento, Marketo)
- Develop user-facing front-end code using Next.js and our GraphQL API
- Work closely with our product and design teams to develop compelling and consistent web user experiences
- Develop the headless CMS backend code that powers our website on a technology stack based on Django
- Work with UX team to improve the user experience of the website
- Refine development processes, and productivity tracking to ensure that the development team is working effectively
Your Profile:
- You are a proven full stack web / ecommerce developer, with 6+ years of experience under your belt
- You have experience thinking about systems architecture for ecommerce end to end - from marketing / email top of funnel through fulfillment
- You can build and ship web applications in a production environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders alike
- Experience coding in Python and JavaScript frameworks, such as Django, ReactJS and NextJS or similar
- Have an understanding of modern web stacks and common toolchains, such as Webpack and Babel or similar
- Break down complex initiatives into concrete iterative pieces
- Write clear code, document your work and provide high quality code reviews
Bonus Skills:
- Prior experience with Magento
- Understanding of content management systems (e.g., Django CMS)
- Prior experience with Marketo
- Experience with implementation of clickstream tracking, and A/B testing
- Experience working with GraphQL
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and/or AWS
