Join the exciting 3D printing industry where the possibilities are endless, innovation is at the core of what we do, and we strive to solve unique customer challenges.

Your Impact:

Formlabs engineers design, build, and test world-class 3D printers and the tools that support them. To do that well, they need organized, efficient, and safe lab spaces where ideas move quickly from concept to prototype. We’re looking for an Engineering Lab & Workspace Manager to take ownership of our engineering labs and bench spaces — ensuring the right tools, layout, and processes are in place for our teams to do their best work.

You’ll manage the physical environment that supports product development across mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering. From tool storage and material flow to safety compliance and lab workflow design, you’ll make sure every workspace enables collaboration, precision, and speed. This role requires someone equally comfortable on the floor with engineers and in planning discussions with operations, facilities, and leadership.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own all engineering lab and work spaces for roughly 100 engineers  — ensuring they’re organized, efficient, and meet safety and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with several different engineering teams to understand workflows, optimize space layouts, and improve access to tools, materials, and shared equipment.
  • Implement and uphold standards for lab safety, cleanliness (5S), and tool maintenance; confidently address noncompliance when needed.
  • Manage inventory, consumables, and equipment calibration in coordination with procurement and facilities.
  • Plan and execute space expansions or reconfigurations to support new product lines, teams, and technologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement across lab operations, introducing new processes that increase efficiency and reduce downtime.

About You:

  • Proven ability to design, organize, and optimize lab layouts, workflows, and tool/material flow across multiple engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge of lab safety, EHS, and compliance standards, with a record of enforcing best practices in technical environments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills — able to influence across disciplines and confidently uphold standards with engineers.
  • Hands-on familiarity with hardware lab tools, test equipment, and prototyping workflows; able to translate engineering needs into efficient workspace operations.

Bonus Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to scale lab infrastructure — planning expansions, consolidations, or new workspace buildouts.
  • Working knowledge of Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies for space and workflow optimization.

Compensation:

We are all owners of Formlabs and direct beneficiaries of our success. We believe that equity is a critical component of compensation at Formlabs, and we want our newest team members to understand the potential value of their equity compensation. Full time employees receive equity, in the form of RSUs. Your financial investment will grow with us in accordance to your impact.
